- baking soda, baby powder or corn starch
- Dawn dish soap
- warm water
- vacuum cleaner
How to use:
- Sprinkle one of the above absorbent powder over the stained area to absorb the excess oil. Rub the powder gently into the fibres with your fingers and leave it to work on the stained area for at least 15 minutes.
- Use the vacuum cleaner with the upholstery attachment to clean the powder from the sofa. Avoid brushing as this could spread the oily stain across the upholstery.
- The next step is to mix dish soap with warm water, use the cloth to blot the stained area gently, and then use cold water to rinse it by blotting with another cloth.
At the end, blot the upholstery with paper towels.
