How Do I Get Rust Off My Aga Range Cooker?

As a housewife and a mother of three little Pokemons, I want to choose what’s best for them, especially when it comes to food. Cooking meals with organic fruits and vegetables from the garden is my way in keeping the family safe. I think I’m lucky enough to have a healthy grandmother who enjoys gardening; this way we enjoy all the goodies: tomatoes, eggplants, bell peppers, cucumbers and much more.

Hence, we spend every summer with grandma in the countryside preparing preserved food for the coming fall. God, the kids have a lot of fun and I can do my house chores in peace and harmony.

As an old lady, grandma can’t handle all household chores the way she did a few years ago, and I discovered some tiny imperfections such as: rust on the outdoor cast-iron cooking hob. Not an appealing way to bake eggplants!
So, let’s give grandma a hand in removing all that disgusting rust from the cast-iron hob in the easiest and cheapest way possible: using coke!

Wondering how you can remove rust with coke?

Well, grab the necessary things:

  • A can of coke
  • A piece of tinfoil or old tooth or carpet brush
  • A small bowl
  • Steps to follow:

  • Pour the coke into the bowl and scrunch up the tinfoil.
  • Now, dip the tinfoil into the coke and start scrubbing the rust away.
  • After this process, you may dip the toothbrush into the coke bowl and scrub a bit harder with it.
  • Another option is to pour coke directly on the rust stain, let it soak for 15 seconds, and then scrub the rust away using the tinfoil.
  • At the end, rinse the area with water and use a cloth to wipe off any rusty residues.
  • Good-to-know: removing rust with coke is actually as easy as it seems. You can use this method to remove rust from any item.
