How to get rid of mold and mildew without chemicals


Mold is unsightly and destroys walls, paint, color and it’s very harmful for our health. Mold and mildew causes allergies, sinus infections, skin irritations, and more. To get rid of these unwanted fungi follow these tips and natural cleaning methods.

Dry and ventilate rooms
Mold and mildew thrive in a moist environment. For moist areas of the house such as bathrooms and kitchens is better to invest in a dehumidifier. Also, make sure there are no plumbing leaks. Ventilate these rooms frequently by opening windows and doors. Don’t let wet items such as carpets, wet towels, wet clothes because this is the perfect environment for mold to grow.

Tea tree oil
This is a powerful natural fungicide. To use this essential oil in mildew extermination, simply put 10 drops of tea tree oil in a spray bottle filled it with water. Spray this mixture over areas affected by mold and you’ll be amazed of its powers. Then wash a little bit and repeat the procedure daily for 4 days in a raw. It will kill the fungus and it will prevent its appearance.

Vinegar
Vinegar is one of the best natural cleaning products, not only to clean mold from kitchen or bathroom but also for cleaning the entire house. Vinegar is a natural antimicrobial, so there is no need to mix it anything. Pour vinegar into a spray bottle and apply it in places where mold grows. Let it act for a few minutes then wipe with a cloth or sponge!

Distilled alcohol
If you don’t like the smell of vinegar you can use other fermented liquids. Alcohol from fermented grain or fruit, such as vodka, brandy … will kill mold fast. Use cheap alcohol because it’s filtered and distilled a few times and it contains congeners such as acetaldehyde, which is 30 times more toxic than double refined alcohol.
