How to get rid of mildew out of your mattress

All mattresses must be cleaned every 3 months to get rid of the odors, dust mites and to prevent mildew stains. Clean your mattress properly without chemicals to get rid of mold and bacteria.

Get rid of mildew stains
If your mattress was wet for too long and got moldy, you have to prepare a paste from baking soda and white vinegar in equal parts. Apply the paste over the mold stain and rub the area with a sponge. Remove the paste with a cloth soaked on warm water. Afterwards mix rubbing alcohol with warm water in equal parts and use a sprayer to sprinkle over the surface. Allow to dry thoroughly then leave the mattress a few days to dry in the sun. You can speed up the process with an air heater or hairdryer, but take care not to overheat the fabric.
