5 natural ways to bleach your laundry


To prevent household accidents caused by using the bleacher we will show how to wash and whiten your laundry in an environmentally friendly way. To get rid of stains on fabric and to obtain the perfect white of clothes use only natural products found in your house.

White vinegar

Besides the fact that is a useful stain and dirt remover, white vinegar work gentle on fabrics and soften them naturally. You don’t need chemical fabric softener.

How to use?
Add ½ a cup of distilled white vinegar over the usual laundry detergent and star your washing machine. If you clothes have collar or underarm stains, rub these areas with white vinegar and let it work for an hour before you wash them.

Baking soda

This product is very cheap and very effective. It can penetrate well into fabrics removing these way the stains and making it softer.

How to use?
Add ½ cup of baking soda over the usual laundry detergent and wash normally. Remember to always separate whites from coloreds.
For stubborn stains, mix baking soda with the juice of half a lemon and apply the paste directly on those areas.

Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is an excellent product if you want to whiten clothes because it doesn’t contain bleach.

How to use?
Add ½ a cup of hydrogen peroxide over the usual laundry detergent. You can put directly on stains, too.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice is an astringent that clean deep the fabrics, removing dirt and leaving your clothes white and clean.

How to use?
Fill a pot with water, add a few lemon slices and put them to boil. Put the laundry in this water and leave it for one hour before washing it.
Another option is to prepare a solution of salt and the juice of 2 lemons. Soak the clothes in this mixture then rinse and dry them in the sun.

Milk

This surprising ingredient can be used for laundry maintenance because it helps to whiten them. It’s especially recommended for delicate and cotton fabrics.

How to use?
Place the stained clothing piece in a bowl with milk and leave it for several hours before you wash it as usual.

Tricks to whiten clothes and keep them clean. Whites need special attention to be kept in good condition.

Avoid using chemical bleach on polyester fabrics or cotton and polyester textiles. Bleach and polyester can cause a reaction which the fabric to turn yellow.

Make sure the water in the washing machine it isn’t turbid because it will turn your clothes yellow.

When your washing whites add some dissolved borax in the water, instead of fabric softener. Borax doesn’t stain clothes.

To avoid staining clothes, don’t use perfume, deodorant or other products that may come into contact with the fabric. Usually they leave yellow stains on clothes.

It’s preferable to dry whites in the sun because the UV rays helps in maintaining the brightness bleached white.
