5 household hacks to clean your toilet bowl


If you’re a fan of natural cleaning products then you already know that the ordinary vinegar is a great help when it comes to cleanliness, especially in bathrooms and kitchens. But did you know that you can clean your toilet bowl using Coca-Cola? Here are five ideas and unexpected solutions, perfect for cleaning the toilet!

1. Remove stains with Coca-Cola
To remove toilet stains you can use a Coke. Pour the liquid inside the toilet and let it do its job for an hour. The acids in the juice will remove the stains. After the time has elapsed, rub a little with a toilet brush then flush.

2. Unclog the toilet bowl with boiling water
If your toilet bowl is clogged and you can’t solve the problem with a sloppy pump, fill a medium-sized pot with water and leave it on the fire until it boils. Pour the hot water down the toilet. It will dissolve dirt left on your pipes.

3. Remove limescale with vinegar
If your toilet bowl has large deposits of limescale it’s difficult to remove. To get rid of limescale effectively, soak a piece of toilet paper in white vinegar then place the paper directly on the limescale area. Leave for a few hours, preferably all night then flush. Stains will disappear.

4. Remove rust with a pumice stone (or those green scrubbies from dollar land)
Rust stains are often the worst enemy of household ceramic items. You can successfully remove those ugly stains with a pumice stone. To avoid scratching the toilet is better to moisten well the toilet bowl and the pumice stone. Rub well until the rust has been completely removed. The same procedure is with those little scrubbies from dollar land and the chances to scratch the toilet are very small.

5. Disinfect the toilet bowl with hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide or is a substance used in the textile industry, in medical area or cosmetic’s area. But this fluid acts as a disinfectant and helps you to eliminate all bacteria from your toilet bowl. Pour half a cup in the toilet and leave it for 30 minutes then flush.
